Evil Collingwood defeats Essendon at the AFL

As some of the students may know, I am an Essendon supporter. Essendon is an Australian Footbal League team that is also known as the 'Bombers' or for short the 'Dons'. So on the 3rd of July I took a group of students to the iconic MCG stadium to watch Essendon vs Collingwood.

With both teams being traditional rivals there was a massive crowd at the 'G' of 77,000+ we thought we were in for a treat!

Anyway, after teaching the students the apropriate things to shout such as 'BALL' (for when a player gets tackled while hanging on to the footy) and 'OPEN YOUR EYES UMPIRE' (for when they call something against Essendon) we sat down to watch the game.

Essendon had the lead in the first quarter though they wasted some opportunities. We won't talk about the second quarter and finally, Collingwood won the game. Which in the end didn't matter too much (to anyone else) as I think we all had fun.

Soon the footy season will be over so we will have to find a new sport to go watch for the community spirit program. So if you're interested in watching some basketball or soccer, let me know by suggesting it to reception.

As for the footy, there's always next year!
