The night started a bit rocky with the prebooked cabs not showing up, this led to a group of 30 wandering the streets to the local taxi rank for the short trip to Port Melbourne.
We eventually got there (only 45 min late) and registered ourselves and were given a number tab, we were then taken to a small room and show a important safety video about the sport and the do's and do not's of paintball.
It was then time to decide teams, to make it fair odd numbers were Red and even numbers Blue. The brave wore shorts while most people were smart and worn long pants to help absorb the impact of a paintball. This is when it got interesting, we were issued with our guns!!!! Excitment grew within the group as we were shown how to use them.
Game time
We played quite a few games where the objective was to defeat the opposing team by tagging them with paint. Winner being the team who had the most team plyers left. Red team won all of these games. We took a break and had an energy hit with drinks and food and then started again this time in a game of capture the flag. The object of this game was to get to the centre of the arena and grab the flag without being tagged with paint and return it to your end of the field. We played 2 games of this and guess what red team won both.
It was then time to play another game that involved touching an object in the middle of the field, this ment that anybody trying to do this would be in the firing line of the opposition and probably sustain a lot of hits. This was a good game with red team winning.
The final game involved a all in assault where there were no teams. The main objective was to use up all of you paint balls, There was no real winner as I am sure everyone involved in this game went home sore.
In all the group managed to fire over 10,000 paint balls, luckily not all hit the targets otherwise we would have been cover in paint. A great night was had by all and I am sure this event will become an annual event that just keeps growing and growing.
