Laser Tag

On the 23rd of April a group of us went to M9 at crown to play some laser tag. Unfortunately we left a bit latter than normal (thanks to those who signed up and then didn't come), but we eventually got on the tram and headed off on our way.

The tram ride was an interesting one with one passenger in particular (an 11 year old boy) who must have been drinking read bull or something as he was bouncing off the walls singing footy songs and talking to everyone that looked at him! So some of us were very relieved to get off at Southbank where we walked along the Yarra to Crown to begin the laser tag challenge.

It began with a riveting instructional dvd
(you can see how excited the fellers are),

we split into teams then we got stuck into game.

First time round we had a bit of fun and the yellow team won (which consisted of the 3 guys in the photo (in order Daniel, Brad and Johan) plus Aref who's leg you can see.

Second time round however, blue team came up with the goods and Joshua (From D1) ended up with the top score of over 11,000 points!

A fun time was had by all even though as part of the red team we had no victories. Next time however, look out! So if you want to come join in on the fun feel free to let us know and we'll arrange another laser tag challenge.

Comedy Stimulus Package

Hi All,

On Thursday 16th April, I took a group of our enthusiastic residents to the Comics lounge in North Melbourne where we had booked a night out for the ‘comedy stimulus package’ where we did not know who or what to expect. Despite our trepidations, we found that it was really cool!

The comics lounge is a unique venue, creating a great atmosphere where we were treated to a night of laughter and dinner. On this particular night we were lucky enough to see well-know TV comedians, Corrine Grant (from Rove), Hung Le and Fox Klein.

All the residents who came found it interesting and exciting because most of us were first timers to a stand-up comedy come dinner event. Of the comedians, Hung Le especially, left a deep impression on us and after the show, we were still rolling in laughter, mimicking Hung Le’s jokes on our journey home.

I personally would like to recommend that you sign up attend events like this – it is a great way to bring the residents together and give them the opportunity for residents meet one another. I myself made some new friends and am now looking forward to the next event.

Five Stars!

Cheers,
Haozhen

Rugby League Melbourne Storm vs Titans

Welcome to the UniLodge @ Melbourne Community Spirit Blog Site! This is an ongoing blog about events and activities that UniLodgers have participated in. Feel free to comment and if you want to add a story of your own, please e-mail us at unilodge.melbourne@unilodge.com.au !

On April 4th a cool Saturday Afternoon a group of UniLodgers travelled down to Olympic Park to watch a rugby game between Melbourne Storm and the Gold Coast Titans.

Sitting near the southern touch down zone we were treated to the antics of the storm mascot (who rides a purple quad bike), the storm cheerleaders, fireworks and some very interesting spectator comments.

In the end, the game was won by the Titans 18 - 6 which though disappointing was still fun to experience.
